Hello! My name is Laura, and I’m the face behind Create Clipart & Illustration. Create Clipart is the result of passion and drive. I am a digital designer/clipart illustrator based in Pittsburgh, PA. I offer watercolor illustrations, clip art and paper packs to add a little whimsy to the everyday. I have a passion for helping people to become more organized, more tech savvy and more design focused. On the blog, you will find many tips to help you to create a world you love.
I want to share with you a bit of who I am and what fuels me as an artist. So here it goes everything you (never wanted) to know about dear old me.
What made me first want to become an artist? As many of you know, I was an artist before adding “teacher” to my resume in my late 20’s. My love of art started at a very young age. I knew early on that art was going to be a big part of my life. I can remember going to a kids art camp at the age and 5 and thinking “this is what I’m going to do.”
Describe your illustration style in ten words or less. I can describe my style in 5 words: hand-drawn, watercolor, vibrant, whimsical, feminine
Where do you find inspiration for your illustrations? Everywhere! I find inspiration from other illustrators, my graphic design heroes, color lookbooks and something as simple as a mug with a really great pattern.
What does your workspace look like? My workspace is a cozy nook in a lofted attic, one of my favorite spots in my home.
What items are an essential part of your creative space? Good music or a book on tape, my favorite drawing materials and coffee, sometimes wine.
What materials do you most like to use? I am a huge believer that quality design is a result of quality materials and a whole lotta love. I always use a cute sketchbook, Faber Castel PITT artist pens Black 199**, Tombow Brush Pens, grAceart watercolors, Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pen, Faber Castel dust-free erasers and set of Venus drawing pencils.
